GEN 3.2 AERONAUTICAL CHARTS |

RESPONSIBLE SERVICE(S) |
1.1 |
The Airport & Aviation Services (S.L.)(Private) Ltd. (AASL) under the delegated authority of DGCA Sri Lanka provides a range of Aeronautical Charts for use by all types of Civil Aviation. The AIS of AASL produces the charts which are part of the AIP. Other charts suitable for pre-fight planning and briefing are available for reference at the AIS Flight Briefing Units of KATUNAYAKE / Bandaranaike Intl. Airport Colombo, MATTALA / Mattala Rajapaksa Intl. Airport and RATMALANA / Colombo International Airport Ratmalana. The Charts are produced in accordance with the provisions contained in ICAO documents listed in para 1.2. Differences to the provisions contained in ICAO Annex 4 - Aeronautical Charts are detailed in sub section GEN 1.7. |

MAINTENANCE OF CHARTS |
2.1 |
The Aeronautical charts included in the AIP are kept up to date or are replaced by AIP amendments. Significant amend- ments or revisions are promulgated by AIP supplements and included by subsequent AIP amendments if appropriate. Information concerning new maps, charts will be notified by AICs. |
2.2 |
Incorrect information detected on published charts will be corrected by NOTAM or AIC if they are of operational significance. |

3.1 |

General description of each series. |
4.2.1 |
Aerodrome Chart-ICAO This chart is available for the aerodrome designated for use by international commercial air transport and are designed to facilitate the ground movement of aircraft to and form the RWY and Apron. It also provides essential operational information at the aerodrome. |
4.2.2 |
Aircraft Parking/Docking Chart-ICAO This chart provides detailed information to facilitate ground movement of aircraft between the taxiways and the aircraft Parking/docking stands. |
4.2.3 |
Aerodrome Obstacle Chart-ICAO Type A (Operating limitations) This chart contains detailed information on obstacles in the take-off flight path of KATUNAYAKE/Bandaranaike Intl. Airport Colombo. It is shown in plan and profile view. This obstacle information provides the data necessary to enable an operator to comply with the operating limitations of ICAO Annex 6. parts I and II, Chapter 5. |
4.2.4 |
Area Chart-ICAO The purpose of this chart is to provide detailed information on the transition between the en-route phase and the approach to an aerodrome, the transition between the take-off and the en-route phase of flight and flights through areas of complex ATS routes or airspace structure |
4.2.5 |
Standard Arrival Chart- Instrument (STAR) -ICAO These charts provide flight crew with information that will enable them to comply with the designed standard arrival route- Instrument, from en-route phase to the approach phase. |
4.2.6 |
Standard Departure Chart- Instrument (SID) -ICAO These charts provide flight crew with information that will enable them to comply with the designed standard departure route- Instrument, from take-off phase to the en-route phase. |
4.2.7 |
World Aeronautical Chart -ICAO These charts are produced by the Department of Surveys on behalf of the DGCA for the use of Pre-flight planning. |
4.2.8 |
Instrument Approach Chart-ICAO This chart is produced for the aerodrome where instrument approaches have been established. A separate chart has been provided for each procedure showing plan and profile views of holding, approach and missed approach, radio facilities and relevant topographical information. |
4.2.9 |
Visual Approach Chart – ICAO This chart shall provide flight crews with information which will enable them to transit from the en-route/descent to
