GENERAL

1.1

Commercial air transport aircraft operating in Colombo FIR must adhere to the provisions of ICAO Annex 6 - Operation of Aircraft, Part1 - International Commercial Air Transport-Aeroplanes, Chapter 6 (Aeroplane Instruments, Equipment and Flight Documents) and Chapter 7 (Aeroplane Communication, Navigation and Surveillance Equipment).

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT TO BE CARRIED

2.1

It is mandatory that all aircraft (SKED/Non-SKED/TRNG) operated in the controlled airspaces of Colombo FIR should be equipped with Mode A and Mode C transponders.    

2.2

It is mandatory that all turbine engine aeroplanes of a maximum certificated take-off mass in excess of 5700 KG or authorized to carry more than 19 passengers shall be equipped with an Airborne Collision Avoidance System (ACAS II  version 7.1) when operated in the Sri Lanka airspace.

2.2.1

The ACAS II system fitted on the aircraft shall;

              a)   be included in the Type Certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the country of  manufacture, or

 

         b)  installed as a modification approved by a regulatory authority acceptable to the DGCA, Sri Lanka and the modification validated by the DGCA, Sri Lanka.

2.3

 It  is mandatory that all turbine engine aero planes of a maximum certified take-off mass in excess of 15000kg or authorized to carry more than 30 passengers shall be equipped with Enhanced Ground proximity Warning System (EGPWS) (GPWS with predictive terrain hazard warning) when operated in the Sri Lanka airspace.

2.3.1

 GPWS with predictive terrain hazard warning system fitted on the aircraft shall; 

    a) be included in the Type Certificate    issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the country of   manufacture, or

 b) installed as a modification approved by a regulatory authority acceptable to the DGCA, Sri Lanka and the modification validated by the DGCA, Sri Lanka.

2.3.2

The EGPWS fitted to the aircraft shall comply with FAA TSO-C 151 class A equivalent requirement.

FLIGHT DOCUMENTS TO BE CARRIED

3.1

Documents to be produced for  inspection

The Pilot-In-Command of an aircraft shall, on demand by an authorized person, produce any of the following documents relating to the aircraft or the persons and/or the goods carried therein for inspection.

3.1.1

When engaged in international or internal (Domestic) flights:

i.        Certificate of aircraft registration

ii.        Certificate of Airworthiness

iii.       Duly completed copy of lease  agreement in respect of lease aircraft

iv.       Certificate of Insurance

v.         Airplane Flight Manual (AFM)

vi.        Copy of the AOC, Certified true by the DGCA

vii.       Minimum Equipment List (MEL) /   Configuration Deviation List (CDL)

viii.      Weight & Balance Manual

ix.        Flight Operations Manual (FOM)

x.         Journey log book

xi.        Technical Log

xii.        Radio Licence

xiii.       Noise Certificate

xiv.       DG Emergency Response Guide

xv.        Other Flight Documents to be carried are as per subsection GEN 1.2
