PM Narendra Modi’s Visit to Sri Lanka

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi arrived in Sri Lanka along with 64 delegates on 11th May 2017 for an official visit, to participate celebrating the International Vesak declared by the United Nations. Vesak Day is the most important day in the Buddhist calendar, which commemorates Lord the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and passing away.

PM Narendra Modi was greeted by the Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe. Thereafter, he signed the visitor’s book at the Airport.

Following the red carpet welcome ceremony held with the participation of many Ministers and Parliamentarians, he was then conducted to Colombo for official activities.
