“April Pledge” in respect of a country free of drugs

The citizens across the country took the Bakmaha Divuruma (April Pledge) national pledge to eradicate the drug menace on 3rd April to confirm their total commitment to control and eliminate the illegal drugs from the country.


Parallel to the national program launched under the direct supervision and direction of his Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena under the sustainable development conceptat the Independence Square in Colombo,the pledge was taken by the employees of the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) collectively to make Sri Lanka a drugs free country in a ceremony organized at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) premises. 


The Chairman of AASL, Mr. Dammika Ranatunga, the Executive Director, Mr. Sanjeewa Wijeratne and all the other senior officials of AASL and a large number of employees were present at the occasion. Further, parallel to the main program organized at BIA, similar programs were organized at Mattala Rajapaksha International Airport, Colombo Airport Ratmalana and Batticaloa Airport as well.
