NEW YEAR TRADITIONS TO THE FORE AT BIA
April 14, 2014
The Sinhala and Tamil New Year dawned on 14th April, 2014 at 7:37 am. The New Year traditions of lighting the hearth at the auspicious time and partaking of the first meal of Kiribath and traditional sweetmeats were observed by BIA staff together with the passengers.
This is a time for goodwill among family and friends and observing the rituals at the auspicious time is believed to ensure that hearth and home will remain filled with peace, happiness and prosperity all across the year that has just dawned.
Mr. Prasanna J. Wickramasuriya, Chairman of AASL, and the Board of Directors wished the staff and all airport users a bright and productive New Year.
