His Excellency President Gotabaya Rajapaksa Visits Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA)

His Excellency President Gotabaya Rajapaksa visited the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today (January 16, 2020) and had discussions with Major General G. A. Chandrasiri, Chairman of Airport Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited (AASL) and other senior officials on the new development initiatives which are being taken place at BIA to introduce immediate solutions to ease the passenger congestion and to uplift the service delivery.

The President closely inspected the airport facilities and key operational areas to be improved as immediate solutions to facilitate passenger comfort. Further, the President advised the senior officials of the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited and some officials of other service agencies to expedite the short, medium and long term plans to enhance the service level at the airport for the benefit of the passengers and all other airport users.
