Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) Facilitated the Arrival of Sri Lankan Students Stranded in Pakistan Fulfilling National Obligation

106 Sri Lankan students from Pakistan were successfully brought home on a special flight, operated by SriLankan Airlines, on 21st April. The flight UL1206 arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport at 18:10 hr.

This mission was implemented as a part of the special program to bring down 433 Sri Lankan students stranded in India, Pakistan, and Nepal under the directives of the Government of Sri Lanka.

The mission was successfully carried out by the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd, Sri Lankan Airlines and all other related institutions under the directives of the government of Sri Lanka. 

All students were received from a remote bay followed by stringent health checks carried out by the officials of the health authorities and processed through the Immigration and Customs procedures provided maintaining a safe distance with the passengers while providing service. Bandaranaike International Airport had made all arrangements to ensure that all precautionary measures are being implemented under the guidance of the Sri Lanka health authorities and the passengers were processed in quick time too. Followed by medical checks and arrival procedures, under the guidance of the health authorities, the military forces transferred all the passengers to the quarantine centers.
