Jetstar Asia Launched Direct Flights between Singapore and Colombo

Jetstar Asia, Singapore, commenced scheduled flight operations between Sri Lanka and Singapore on 21st November 2024 with five return flights each week, operated by their fleet of Airbus A320s.

The inaugural flight arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 10.30 hrs with 179 passengers. The inaugural flight was ceremonially welcomed with a water salute by Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited.

Further, passengers were warmly welcomed by a traditional Kandyan dance performance sponsored by Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and presented with tea gift packs sponsored by the Sri Lanka Tea Board.

Harsha Abeywickrema, Chairman of Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL), stated: "The launch of Jetstar Asia's scheduled flights between Singapore and Sri Lanka is a significant boost for our tourism sector's ongoing growth.
