AASL Corporate Strategy for 2023 – 2025

Airport & Aviation Service (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) recently held a strategic planning brainstorming session to revisit the latest three-year Corporate Strategy by which it aims to navigate towards betterment in the time of global and local economic crisis.

The session was held as a full-day program under the guidance of Chairman Major General (Rtd.) G.A. Chandrasiri with the Board of Directors of AASL and the Senior Management team along with their successors across all divisions within the organization.

Mr. Deshal De Mel – Economic Advisor to the Ministry of Finance joined as the Keynote speaker and Mr.Chalaka Gajabahu - Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Mr. Buddhika Hewawasam -  IATA Country Manager for Sri Lanka, Mr. Mohammed Ifthikhar- Chairman of Airline Operators Committee were also presented as guest speakers. The session was themed Let’s play to win and provided a much-needed platform to air the futuristic moves which are to be meaningfully synchronized to bring better synergies. There was a panel discussion followed by a Q&A session and inputs from all participants, based on their own experience and practical knowledge, provided the final constructive touches to formulate the strategic direction that would serve as the blueprint to finalize the AASL’s three-year corporate plan.

To be developed by the AASL’s Strategic Management Division, the new corporate plan aims to deliver realistic corporate goals by endorsing strategies within the functional scope of AASL and expanding organizational capacities to astutely promote, attract, and facilitate sustainable aviation. Followed by this first brainstorming session, there will be a series of internal sessions, and the service of the blue Ocean strategy specialist – Mr. Ajith Perera will be obtained to develop the first phase of the plans.
