Preventive measures for Travellers and Crew members arriving from Overseas into Sri Lanka during COVID-19 Pandemic.

Fully Vaccinated Status

If a traveller or crew member has taken the “recommended doses” of a COVID-19 vaccination and completed 14 days after vaccination is considered as FULLY VACCINATED.

Children between the ages of 12 to 18 years, who have taken at least a single dose of a recognized vaccine for COVID-19 and completed 14 days after vaccination will have the same privileges of a fully vaccinated person.

Key Conditions applied to Travellers entering into Sri Lanka

1. All test reports and required documents when entering, including proof of vaccination shall be in English.

    Self-swabs of RAT are not acceptable.

2. COVID-19 PCR Tests or Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) are no longer required for Fully Vaccinated Travellers or for children below the age of 12 years prior to their departure into Sri Lanka.

3. If a Traveller has been infected with COVID-19 within 6 months to 7 days prior to their departure flight into Sri Lanka, and have received at least a single dose of a recommended vaccine; they do not need to have a PCR Test or RAT before boarding their flight. The traveler must have verifiable documents to prove past history of COVID-19 infection i.e. Diagnosis card or Positive PCR Test/RAT Report.

4. If a Traveller with a single dose of vaccine for COVID-19 was infected with COVID-19 more than 6 months prior to the departure flight into Sri Lanka, then the traveller shall require a negative pre-departure PCR test/RAT. PCR test shall be done within 72hrs prior to departure, or a RAT done within 48hrs prior to Departure.

5. All other Travellers of 12 years and above who are NOT FULLY VACCINATED and do not fall into the above categories (Number 3 & 4) shall mandatorily obtain a negative pre-departure COVID-19 PCR Test report done within 72 hours prior to departure OR a negative Rapid Antigen Test report done within 48 hours prior to departure.

6. When a traveler has been infected with COVID-19, then the traveler shall plan to arrive in Sri Lanka, at least 07 days after contracting COVID-19 infection.

Please note that the above mentioned conditions shall remain in force until further notice and supersede anything to the contrary in the public health measures imposed by CAASL Special Direction 020 (Edition 04) dated 01^st February 2022.
