Electronics Engineering Training Wing

 

This training wing conducts recruit and developmental training for Air Traffic Safety Electronic Personnel (ATSEP).  This includes communication Engineering and Navigational Aids Maintenance Engineering.

Three dedicated laboratories with state of the art training equipment and test equipment provide the trainee hands on exposure in near operational scenarios.

This wing also conducts several courses for ATSEPs to effectively withstand CNS/ATM transition.  In addition to training the ATSEPs deployed in local operations, the wing has trained technical officers from the region.

The training programmes are supplemented by supervised on-the-job training at local operational facilities

 
Advanced Test & Measuring Techniques for ATSEP ( TRAINAIR PLUS STP ) tp

Objectives: To provide the participants with necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes in using advanced test and measuring equipment at CNS maintenance facilities and in the field in an effective and professional manner.
Prerequisites: should be technical personnel deployed at CNS maintenance facilities at commercial airports and other connected locations

ILS Maintenance - ICAO 164
Duration: 45 Working Days Scheduled Date: <<On Request>> Course Fee:<<Provided on Request>>
Objectives: To impart to the trainee the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to maintain Instrument Landing System Equipment at commercial airports.
Prerequisites:The candidate should be Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel deployed in maintenance duties at a commercial airport.
Remarks: OJT could be arranged on request.

DVOR Maintenance - ICAO 164

Objectives: To impart to the trainee the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to maintain DVOR Equipment at commercial airports.
Prerequisites: The candidate should be Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel deployed in maintenance duties at a commercial airport.
Remarks: OJT could be arranged on request.

DME Maintenance - ICAO 164 (STP of former TRAINAIR Programme )

Objectives: To impart to the participants adequate specialization in the maintenance of DME equipment.
Prerequisites: The candidate should be Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel deployed in maintenance duties at a commercial airport.
Remarks: This course is based on Thomson 721 DME, OJT could be arranged on request.

Navigational Aids Refresher Course

Objectives: To refresh and update the personnel involved in the maintenance of ILS, DVOR and DME equipment at commercial airports.
Prerequisites: Should be deployed in the maintenance of at least one type of navigational aid equipment.

Management Development for Engineering Officers

Objectives: To provide officers who are close to taking up responsibilities as engineers an insight into the different aspects of management.
Prerequisites: Should be senior officers in the technical services of state and private sector establishments.

Computer Aided Tender Evaluation

Objectives: To provide state sector officers who are involved in tender evaluations with useful tips using computers to reduce evaluation time and produce effective evaluation reports.
Prerequisites: Should be officers who are involved and are likely to be involved in the technical evaluation of bids.

Basic Specialities in UNIX for aviation applications -ICAO 169 (STP of former TRAINAIR Programme )

Objectives: To provide the operational field with qualified operational staff adequately specialized in standard UNIX operating system to confidently maintain any UNIX based automated system, backed by specialized equipment trainings.
Prerequisites: Trainees should be technical personnel deployed in maintenance of automated systems, should be computer literate.
