Our Air Traffic Services Training Wing is one of the oldest training wings at the CATC. Almost all the Air Traffic Service professionals in Sri Lanka have either graduated or have followed developmental training at this wing.
In year 2000 the training facilities were modernized through the commissioning of a 2- dimensional tower control simulator and a RADAR control simulator. Simulator exercises may be customized to suit any air space and accordingly this wing is capable of training air traffic controllers to serve in any air space.
In addition to the regular conduction of training courses for local ATS operations, this wing has trained ATC officers from the region as well.
The training programmes are supplemented by supervised on-the-job training at local operational facilities.
