Aeronautical Information Services Training Wing

 

This wing is the most recently established wing at the CATC. It conducts ab-initio training for new recruits to the Aeronautical Information Services as well as short duration and long duration courses, seminars and workshops for officers deployed in Aeronautical Information Services.

The wing has already proven itself as a regional training provider. It's training programmes have been updated in keeping with the new concepts in Aeronautical Information Management (AIM).

 
Aeronautical Information Services Course- ICAO 021

Objectives: To impart to the participants the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to take up duties as competent AIS Officers in Aeronautical Information Services.
Prerequisites: Advanced Level or equivalent secondary educational qualification with mathematics and physics as subjects.

Aeronautical Information Services Refresher Course

Objectives: To refresh and update the participants who are serving as AIS Officers in Aeronautical Information Services.
Prerequisites: Should be employed as an AIS Officer at a commercial airport.

AIS Briefing Officer Course -ICAO 029

Objectives: To provide to the participants the knowledge, skills and attitudes related to the technical aspects of Aeronautical Information Service Pre-Flight Briefing work.
Prerequisites: Should be employed as an AIS Officer at a commercial airport.

NOTAM Specialist Course

Objectives:To provide the participants the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to efficiently handle NOTAM at AIS units in international and local aerodromes
Prerequisites: Should be employed as an AIS Officer at a commercial airport.
